…and I’m sick.  Miserably sick with some kind of throat infection.

I woke up around 3am having trouble swallowing with a sore throat and couldn’t go back to sleep.  I finally got up around 6:30, had some coffee, and felt a little better – and decided to go to the FuBarbell seminar.

Which, you know.  Might have been a mistake, health-wise.  But honestly?  It was an awesome seminar.  At least for the first half.  I hit the wall FAST after lunch and had to sit out most of the second half.  I should have gone home a few hours earlier than I did, but I really didn’t want to miss any of Diane Fu!

I went to urgent care, where they fast tested me for strep and were surprised that it came back negative.  101.7 degree fever.  Just flippin’ miserable.  Hot and cold.  Couldn’t swallow my own saliva without extreme pain.  The doc is sending the strep test to the lab for the longer test, because it looks so much like strep.

Anywho.  I was miserable and tired and couldn’t sleep.  I took some leftover vicodin from a previous surgery, and I am incredibly thankful for it at this time.  Man.  My brain was telling me some crazy stories last night, just so feverish and so tired.

So…. day one was not the best in some ways.

But if you get a chance to spend the day with Diane Fu – do it.  It was an awesome experience.

And the three things I did well yesterday?  Diane Fu said I had a great flow to my snatch and clean.  That should count for like fifteen things right there.  So I have good oly lifting technique, which makes me happy.  And I was able to calm my anxiety when I felt so sick and overwhelmed with trying to find an open urgent care.  Imma call that three: snatch, clean, calming.  Woot!
